How to use this calculator

1

Enter price & shipping

Your list price plus any shipping you charge. Digital sellers: leave shipping at $0.

2

Check the fee rates

Defaults match Etsy's 2026 US schedule — adjust if you sell from the UK, EU or Canada where processing rates differ.

3

Toggle Offsite Ads

Select the offsite-ad option only for orders Etsy attributes to its external ads — it can more than double your fees on that order.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Etsy take per sale?
On a typical US order with no ads, roughly 10%: $0.20 listing + 6.5% transaction + 3% + $0.25 processing. On a $50 sale that's about $5 in fees. If an offsite ad drove the sale, add another 12–15% and the total can reach 20–30%+.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes — the 6.5% transaction fee applies to the item price plus any shipping you charge the buyer. Digital products have no shipping, so it's simply 6.5% of the price.
Can I opt out of Offsite Ads?
Shops earning under $10,000/year can opt out in settings. Shops over $10,000/year are enrolled mandatorily at the lower 12% rate. The fee only applies when a buyer purchases after clicking Etsy's external ad.
Why is the listing fee charged again after a sale?
Multi-quantity listings auto-renew at $0.20 for each unit sold. Single-quantity listings also renew every 4 months at $0.20 if auto-renew is on.
Do fees differ for digital products?
The fee structure is identical — but with no shipping charged and no shipping label cost, digital sellers keep a higher share. On a $10 digital sale: $0.20 + $0.65 + $0.55 = $1.40 in fees, you keep $8.60.
